Gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9, have revolutionized modern medicine by enabling precise alterations to the genome, offering potential cures for genetic disorders and advancing personalized medicine. However, these technologies raise significant ethical concerns, particularly regarding their use in humans. This paper explores the applications of gene editing in medicine, focusing on its potential to treat genetic diseases, and examines the ethical dilemmas associated with germline editing, consent, equity, and unintended consequences.
